My idea is to share insights and learnings from my career on a weekly basis. As the name suggests, my journey has been far from linear. Too often in life, we are told to have and stick to a plan. Reality, though, hits us in strange ways and we have to adapt in order to play the hand we are dealt. Through the ups and downs, my ‘meandering’ path has allowed me to gain experience in various industries through different functional areas.
Originally from Pakistan, I moved to Sweden in 2009 and I’ve been living here since then. In over 13 years, I’ve secured new roles, been promoted, ‘hit a wall’, been laid off, and transitioned between seemingly different career tracks.
